Application For inert, reactive, flammable, oxidizing, and corrosive gases and gas mixtures with purity up to 6.0. Tube fittings are suitable for gas systems, but the following standards must be followed as they would be for other systems: 1. The tube hardness must be lower than that of the ferrules. 2. The tube should be free of surface imperfections and defects and have a round shape. 3. Tube ends must be cut square and perpendicular to the tube centerline. After cutting, deburr the tube both inside and outside with a high-quality, fully sharpened deburring tool. Material Stainless steel 316. Straight fittings are made from bar stock, and shaped fittings are made from forgings. Installation Instructions 1. Insert the tube firmly until it bottoms out in the fitting body. 2. Tighten the nut by hand. 3. Mark the nut at the 6 o'clock position with a pencil or scribe. 4. Hold the body with a backup wrench or vise, then tighten the nut. 5. Tighten 1-1/4 turns to the 9 o'clock position. 6. The above applies to all fittings from 1/4" to 1" (6 mm to 25 mm). 7. For fittings from 1/16" to 3/16" (3 mm to 4 mm), only 3/4 turn is required.
